Syncro Vs Haldex Vs Torsen

Hi to all, anyone know the different subdivisions of traction about Syncro, Haldex and Torsen respectively? Thank you very much.

Its not Syncro its Visco, Haldex and Torsen. Use Google. Visco and Haldex is nearly the same. One difference is that Haldex is controlled by elektronik.

First hit on Volkspage delivers a SSP (No. 206) which shows you advantages.
Advantages of visco coupling: Also a distribution of 2% front and 98% rear axle is possible.

Visco and Haldex are used on transverse engines (and also midengined cars), while Torsen are used on longitudinal engines.

Is it true that Visco works in drive forward but not in reverse too?

Is possible change differential to Torsen? I would a 4x4 as Torsen as, or rear traction, if it's possible.

Stimmt es, dass Visco arbeitet in Fahrt vorwärts, aber nicht umgekehrt auch?

Ist möglichen Wechsel zu Torsen Differential? Ich würde ein 4x4 als Torsen wie oder Traktion, wenn es möglich ist.

I think Passat W8 was the only VW that had Torsen, is right?

Ich denke, Passat W8 war die einzige, die VW Torsen hatte, richtig ist?

A fully operational Syncro also works while driving backwards.

Yes, i meant this SSP.

Normally, 2% of torque is delivered to the rear and 98% to the front axle. When slip of the front tires is detected, the torque is sent to the rear tires, and this up to 98%.

HALDEX: I am in the opinion, that you cant distribute nearly all of the torque freely to the front or rear axle, but people say that you can do this.

Old Torsen have a maximum distribution of 50%/50%, while newer allows you to send 40% to the front and 60% to the rear axle

Yes, newer Passtat 3b had Torsen because of their longitudinal engine

The Frontaxle is the main-power-Axle,because if the Haldexclutch provides full Power,You got 50% Front and 50% Rear.
Even the Regulatorvalve is controled by PWM from the CPU,Clutch isn`t full closed and Power to Rearaxle get in Friction to Clutch.
So the CPU have the opportunity to choice 100% Front or 50/50% into 4*4Wd

I think CPU is set Controlvalve everytime as Wheelsensors on rear lower than front,so u got no Diffrent betwen Front and Rear in 4Weel mode.
If the Rearaxle is designed for 100% Load,Ingeneers follow the right Way.
If its not,it will break bekause of the Offroad.
