Export plates (Ausfuhrkennzeichen) Hi to everyone, do you know how many characters the "Export plates" ("Ausfuhrkennzeichen" in German language, I think) may/should have and if it is possible to choose them? Thank you :) |
Jup it is called "Ausfuhrkennzeichen" or "Exportkennzeichen". In germany EVERY licensplate has to have max. 8 letters or number. More than 8 is not allowed/possible. Less maybe OK. so it depends also on the county. For example: in Stuttgart (who has S -> one letter for Stuttgart) you can have 7 numbers. In Schwäbisch Hall (SHA) you can have only 5 numbers. |
Thank you very much for your gently reply :) Overall, do those 7 maximum characters consist in numbers or letters only rather than a combination of them? In addition, there is any specific limit on their order (e.g.: 4 letters and 3 numbers, or numbers before than letters, or a mix of them, etc.)? I am asking this because I found a website that is a configurator of them that shows as the only allowed solution: 3 letters for the 1st space - 3 numbers for the second space - one letter for the third space https://www.funschilder.de/kfz-kennz...nnzeichen.html However, I am not sure if it is correct. Moreover, what space is for the country letter? Thank you again. |
I am updating this topic because I discovered how "Zoll" (Ausfuhrkennzeichen) work by myself. The first space is for the country: 1 to 3 letters just decided. The second space is for numbers only (no letters): 1 to 3 random numbers. The third space is for a letter only (no number): 1 random letter only. I hope this will help some other users :) |
