Do you organize any official "Golf3.de treffen"?

Yes, there is every year a official "Golf3.de-Forumstreffen" in Germany ;)

I have a trouble to solve. I hope in a your help.

I have this golf from 2009, and I ever have a non solved trouble with central lock door.

The left door, the trunk, and the fuel cap ever operated in the right mode. The pessenger or right door ever presented this problem. When i close the door, the lock doesn't open and reamin closed. It's impossible to open it with key or any other way. I change 2 compressor and 3 lock door: result is ever locked and any correct operation.
To open the door i had broken for three times the lock. To allow this problem i disconnect the air lock system, i removed also the compressor.
I think that was something wrong in the air hose or electrical.

I bought 2 week ago this a electrical kit of JOM with these actuators

http://www.golf3.de/images/imported/2012/11/449.jpg

and this is the rest of the kit

http://www.golf3.de/images/imported/2012/11/450.jpg

My question is: can i operate the actuators of this kit with the original lock (the lock are not connected with air and electrical)? I hope to not buy two original lock without central lock...

I hope to explain may trouble...anyway sorry for some mistake.
Thanks to everybody!

No! what you will do ist not good. Please repair the original lock only with OEM parts.

Why? Because the jom kit is junk and not reliable? I'm tired to waste time, i try for two years to find a solution...

Hey nice mkIII

i would change a few details but if you like it this way ;)
i think fully red tails on that white car would be gorgeous.

your headlights are great, where is this bixenon from? do you have a link for me? would be great :D

Martin87 08.11.2012 21:00

No, you cant mix the jom kit with the original locking system, because jom is an electrical system and original is a system controlled by air!

It wouldnt work if you mix it...

chris rock 08.11.2012 21:20

Chang completly on electrical locking system.
Then there is no reason for searching a solution anyway. =)
Really nice car! Wonderful colour and great ideas you´ve realised!

i would make it more to the left and make a smaller distance between the 8 and the V

but the idea is very cool ;)

The bixenon is an aftermarket kit purchased in a Hifi Center of my city. When i came back at home, i make a shot of the box. I don't remind which firma is.
I remember the kit are:
2 bulbs
2 lamps 6000k (i'm waiting for 4300)
2 ballast
1 cable with relais for swhitch HI/LO beam
2 control unit for position light.

Full red taillight is an option, but now i would finisch the car, i leave the details at last.
Thank you for your opinion :danke:

So Martin & Chris this is the current status

You can see the disconnected air red hose, and no electrical connection to original lock. My question is: now the lock is pure mechanic operating. Can I use my lock in this condition (fully disconnected) or i must purchase and use a no oem ZV lock to use my electrical ZV kit?
Reset the original air ZV is not contempllated now...:o

I understand your problem and I guess that the orig. air controlled lock doesnt work with an electrical adjusting motor...but you can try it with a simple adjusting motor...its very cheap...I think round about 5€...

FraH2O 09.11.2012 14:22

Thank you for the tricks. Have you a link of this?
Danke Martin

Hallo Mk3 friends.

I have to solve definetively this trouble. Having said that i'll not came back to oem ZV (I remove all original kit), the problem this.

This afternoon i tested the jom ZV, i connected the unit at battery: the kit works good and it seems reliable.

I work on position of jom motor to match on original "turpinnen" tie. I check the right work clearence for all tie and widows. Feels good, and the position is this

http://www.golf3.de/images/imported/2012/11/519.jpg

http://www.golf3.de/images/imported/2012/11/520.jpg

It seemed all ok, i decided to check and test the working. And now there's is problem:
With the connection to original turpinne tie the motor close and immediaty open. It' doesn't remain on lock position.
Without connection to tie, the jom motor close when i push closing button and open when push opening button.
What's wrong with tie?
The just think is: is possible that turpinne tie range is shorter than jom motor range? And for this reason is possible that jom motor don't stay on locking position?

Thank a lot at everybody

Hi, first i would like to say that you have a really nice car and i respect that you put so much work in the car, and also the money which is in there, for example the paint work.

there aren't many people which spend so much time and money in such old cars.

what i also have to say is that i like your showroom so much with all the pictures of your rebuild and the car.

there aren't many showrooms with so many pictures. keep on going with uploading puctures.

to the problem with the power lock:

i am at the exact same opinion as you, i think that the "range" of the door pins is too short what means that the electrical motors of the jom kit closes and then immediately opens again.

but it is always hard to give help over the internet.

further best luck with the car and greetings to italy.
